I am studying geology and geophysics in university. I will be a sophomore next year and for the next 3 years I will be doing extensive field work. I also plan to backpack India next summer, so I want something that will last me for 3 months of intensive traveling. Thus, I am seeking high quality gear that will meet some of the following criteria. I am mainly looking for a tent, backpack, and pair of hiking boots, compass, GPS, and a sleeping bag. What could you recommend me and why?Over the next three years I will be doing the following:-2 week field camp in Death Valley, CA during early January (will be camping/cooking/hiking in the wilderness the entire time)-6 week field camp in the badlands of Montana (will be camping/cooking/hiking in the wilderness entire time).-5 day field trip to Big Bend National park in Texas-5 day field trip to Gulf Coast of Texas to study costal geology-2 week field camp to Western, USA to study geology of Grand Canyon and some sites in New Mexico (will be camping/cooking/hiking in the wilderness the entire time)-I will be taking a backpacking course next semester that teachers basic wilderness survival and backpacking skills. It has a 4 day field trip in the Austin area of Texas where you are dropped off with a partner and trek.~15 weeks traveling through Goa, Kerala, Gujarat, Himalayas, and a month in Kashmir in India. I will also spend a month in Pakistan traveling through Karachi, Lahore, and up to the Khyber pass.I will spend a total of 25-26 weeks in the field over the next 3 years which equates to over half a year!

Big problem – Do you think my girlfriend and i need to call it quits?
Im originally from a small town in Montana, and shes from NY. we met 3 years ago at the age of 16 at a school journalism Conference. Anyway, here we are 3 years later at age 19. I don;t live in montana anymore, i live in NY too, for her. The main point to this whole question, she wants for us to move together to Africa (she is very into cultural experience and all i guess) so she wants us to live in like south africa (and she also mentioned living in india too eventually). But i.. just dont want to. I grew up on a farm/ranch in montana and going to a place like that is just.. not at all me. I just cant think of anything worse to be hounest. I know some of my friends here in NYC tell me i should go so i can learn about other cultures and see differant things… but thats just not me. My family never traveled, unless it was 20 miles to go to the next town. When i moved to NY out of high school for her it was like my biggest life adventure.. now she wants to go on a bigger one i dont think i could ever imagine being ready for.what do y;all think?
Missing persons cases, who do you tell if you believe multiple cases are connected?
I really would appreciate advice on this. I feel that 3 unsolved missing person cases are linked, and by looking at it in a new way, these cases can be solved to a degree of giving closure families. However, I have no idea if I;m on to something important, who to even tell, and so fourth. In any event, here are the details, maybe a police man or someone can tell me what they think I should do:I believe:http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/marshall_nyleen.html http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/g/ginevicz_megan.html http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/crane_stephanie.html are all linked to the same abductor, and are part of a serial abductor that spanned the 80s and early 90s. I believe that police has missed substantial connections, and that they are obviously related by these dots:1. They all happened within 300 miles of each other. 2. They all share similar physical features. 3. They all share connecting details. a. The 4 year old and 2 year old were both abducted in Montana within 2 years of eachother. They both have the same hair color, eye color, are within 2 years of each others ages, have similar bone structures, was abducted in similar wood-like isolated areas, both cities were connected by the same freeway stretch, and so fourth. b. The 9 year old;s suspected abductor, who killed himself, was a hunter, has a history of cross state felonies, and was a hunter that would always be around the woods. The 9 year old has similar features with the other two, and she is within the ages of the other two, when you factor in the years which passed between the abductions. I believe this information is important, because:1. One of the cases is determined to be a grizzly bear attack, which makes no sense, and is absurd given the similarities in cases. 2. One of the cases had an anonymous note that detailed pertinent information that the abductor would only know, and that note can be crossed examined with the suspected abductors handwriting. Also if they saved the phone called the anonymous abductor made, they can compare the voices with the suspected abductor of the 9 year old. 3. If I am right, this could bring closure to three families, and break open the case again. Although I am assuming into a lot that could be called conjecture and speculation, the evidence can be crossed check to see if it matches: the notes and calls against the suspected abductor in the 9 year old;s case, and if his travel patterns coincides. If they never considered this, maybe it would help 3 families have closure after 20+ years; however, If I;m wrong, I could be bringing unnecessary problems and burdens to people. What do you think? If you would tell someone, who would you tell? Take care,
I’m driving from Fla to Montana and then south thru Wyoming and back to Fla and would love to know scenic rte.?
I;m a 75 year old male and wish to take a long scenic drive north towards Montana and the south to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. I;ll be leaving my wife at home and traveling alone, this trip is on my "bucket list" and if I wait much longer I;m fearful I may not be able to go. So, I;ll be traveling alone and am basically interested in out-the-way scenic drives, stopping at cemetarys that contain famous people, dinasour museums, and other boring "old people fun things". This will be my last long distance trip planned for just after Labor Day (I believe gas prices will be down), but I am worried about how to find low-cost motel rooms each night for a total time of about 2 weeks on the road. What;s the best way to begin to map out a solo trip like this? And is it legal for me to carry a concealed weapon that I have a permit for? Thank you so much for this interesting site I;ve just discovered.

What is the process of receiving an assisted suicide?
Ok I;m 20 yrs old and lately I haven;t had much interest in doing anything. I;m always tired and out of energy, I;m not doing well at work and my life in the military is very stressful. I have a new car but I don;t drive it anywhere and have no friends, so I;ve decided that eventually I want to end my life early. I;ve been seeing a Psychologist for about 3-4 months now but it hasn;t really done much good. I;ve done some research into assisted suicides and found they are legal in Washington, Oregon, and Montana. I have a very low pain tolerance so I was wondering possibly the next time I take some leave I can travel to one of those states and be put to sleep. Any advice would be appreciated.

Should we move to arizona or north carolinA?
it would be a little outside the cities but my fiancee company he works for has locations in both places and we want to get out of the midwest (michigan area) we are 22 and been together 4 years living together for 1. we just want to live somewhere else switch things up a bit. i love out west (we both do) california would be ideal or montana but either too expensive to live and no locations for his company out there or in montana theres just no real jobs. so phoenix would be ideal due to its out west and not far from the rockies, la, san diego, vegas, etc… but the weather, etc… is the cost of living high? is it safe? and same with north carolina (charlotte) heard its nice but nowhere really where we could travel to thats closee…we wouldnt stay in either place the rest of our lives but maybe a couple years or so input please its very very much appreciated!!!!!sorry tuscon az not phoenix
